How to use Wheel Builder.

Start with hub and rim measurements, calculate spoke lengths, review the configuration, then save or share the build.

Calculate spoke lengths

  • Open the Calculator tab.
  • Select a hub preset and rim preset, or choose custom values.
  • Enter ERD, flange diameter, center-to-flange distance, spoke count, and lacing.
  • Open Advanced when you need rim offset, spoke hole diameter, or side-specific lacing changes.
  • Tap Calculate and review left and right order lengths, raw values, and difference.

Use Build Check

Build Check shows ready, review, and needs-fix cues. Treat review messages as a prompt to confirm measurements before ordering spokes.

Manage presets

  • Use Presets to save common hub and rim dimensions.
  • Search your preset library when the list grows.
  • Import or export JSON backups when moving data manually.

Save builds

  • Name the build after the bike, customer, wheel position, or rim and hub combination.
  • Add notes for tire size, nipple choice, spoke model, color, or final order length.
  • Duplicate a saved build when creating a similar wheel.
  • Use Share to send a spoke order summary.

iCloud, Spotlight, and Shortcuts

Optional iCloud sync keeps presets and saved builds available on devices signed in to your Apple ID. Spotlight can surface saved builds, and Shortcuts can open Wheel Builder or calculate spoke lengths from measurements.
